Identifying Proteas and Species Lists
If you are going to be in a particular area of South Africa, then you might find it really useful to get a species list for that area before you set off. You will find it easier to identify which protea you have found.
You may get a species list for an African Country, a South African Province or a Fynbos Region. Alternatively you may get a Species List for Nature Reserves and Conservancies in Southern Africa.

If a Species List does not help you to identify a Protea then have a look at our Keys which will take you logically through a step by step procedure, rather like a flowchart, which will help you to determine which species you have found.
