A solid black dot indicates where the species is found. Diastella divaricata divaricata - Peninsula Silkypuff
is a Peninsula endemic from Steenberg Plateau southwards to Cape Point. It has rounded
leaves.
Atlassers have recorded Di diva d from all known historical localities, with the
exception of the odd record from the Mowbray Golf Course. New records for Di diva d (along
the Steenberg) are suggestive that this species may be increasing its distributional range
given that it is so well collected elsewhere on the Peninsula.
Areas which may still be worthy of more attention for this species include Dido Valley
and the north slopes of Steenberg Plateau northwest of the Ou Kaapse Weg.
We lack data for this species for especially November, but generally October to
January. It is an interesting species in that it appears to have no peak flowering or
growing period! More seasonal data please! |
