A solid black dot indicates where the species is found. Serruria
cyanoides - Wynberg Spiderhead is a multistemmed shrub with lots of delicate, short,
erect stems emerging from the ground. It has a single head per stalk. Se cyan has been
atlassed at all of its known extant sites. The record on Suther Peak (north of the main
Karbonkelberg population) must still please be confirmed. It was once common on the Cape
Flats, and may still occur in the Tokai and Constantia Forests, and even at Rondevlei. The
record north of Rooikrans also requires verification.
This is a Peninsula endemic - so seasonal data are crucial. We lack suffcient flowering
and growth data for January to March, May to June, August to September and November. |
