IDM Cape Peninsula - Pagodas - Mimetes
The Pagodas are the most spectacular of the Proteas. Their flowerheads have been modified into a single functional "flower", and the entire branch tip into a functional "flowerhead". These "Conflorescences" are rare in the plant kingdom, and yet mirror the way that flowers evolved from "leaves" on branches.
