IDM Cape Peninsula - Green Tree Pincushion - Leucospermum conocarpodendron viridum

A solid black dot indicates where the species is found.

Leucvspermum conocarpodendron viridum - Green Tree Pincushion ranges from Kirstenbosch and Little Lion's Head southwards, where it is a prominent and widespread element. It also occurs at Kanonkop (Durbanville) and from Simonsberg to Stanford.

Ls cono v is the Peninsula's most commonly recorded protea. Within its distribution range it tends to occur in extensive stands. It is somewhat more catholic in its habitats than Mi fimb, with the latter being better represented only on the top of Table Mountain, Swartkopberg and Paulsberg.

Although our data appear to be comprehensive for this species, please visit the gaps and confirm that it is not present there. Be especially careful to note if Mi fimb also occurs with it.

This appears to the southernmost recorded protea on the Cape Peninsula.
