Win a R150 and Atlassing Clothing - April / May Competition

The Winner of the prize for the naming of the Mazda 4 X 4 is Libby McGill – the car will be known as 'Witblitz'. Although not the best name, this is the name most suggested by most atlassers (but Libby’s entry is the first to use this name), and in fact is the name that everyone is unofficially using.

The Protea Atlas Project recently acquired a spanking brand new Mazda 4 X 4 (which was very kindly donated by Mazda South Africa) to replace the ageing Suikerkannetjie.

The object of this competition is to give the vehicle a name. The 4 X 4 is white. Blushing Bride (because it is white and hasn't been pranged) and Slushing Bride (because of all the wet weather it was driven through in Swaziland during Cyclone Eline) have already been suggested so you may wish to think along other lines. We are looking for a snappy, protea-related name that embodies the car’s function in the project.

So, start thinking and e-mail your name for the Protea Atlas Project Mazda 4 X 4 to protea@nbict.nbi.ac.za by 31 May 2000.

Good luck.

The prize is a R150 book voucher for the Botanical Society Bookshop and an item of atlassing apparel of your choice.
