Paranomus "omlaarensis"

Paranomus nova - Scanned: NBI Habit: Imperfectly known - sparsely branched to 0.5m tall
Fire survival: Unknown - probably killed - only seeds survive
Sexual system: Both sexes in each flower
Flowers: Probably July to October
Pollinator: Insects
Fruit: Released two months after flowering
Seed dispersal: Ants
Seed storage: Uderground in ants nests
Rarity status: Probably rare - extremely localised
Habitat: Unknown
Distribution:
Recorded from Riviersonderend Mountains at Jonasplaats although a dubious record from the Hottentots Holland Mountains exists
Note: This Paranomus was only recently "discovered" in herbaria and may possibly be a new species. It was previously identified as Paranomus capitatus
