A solid black dot indicates where the species is found. Grevillia
banksia - Scarlet Silky Oak has been atlassed at Port Edward - does it occur
anywhere else in Natal? How much of a problem is it? Which habitats is it invading into?
GR BANK has the features typical of a Grevillea: leaves divided with markedly different
upper and lower surfaces. The flowerheads form a cluster or spike, with florets borne in
pairs per floral bract, and the ovary walls developing into a thin-walled, leathery
follicle. It can further be identified by its deeply incised leaves with 511 lobes. The
flowers are red or pink, and hairy on the outside.
